Not a long time passed since I last blogged but there are quite some things that I feel like sharing.
CRAZY KEYBOARD REPLACED
One night I was using this computer when I felt like bringing my drinking bottle in front of me so I could fill myself with half-frozen water both to rehydrate and cool me down. As normal with half-frozen stuff, they make moist. Well, my drinking bottle made a lot. I placed it in front of me over the computer table so I could easily drink whenever I wanted to. Although it was dripping a whole lot, I ignored the risk it might cause to our computer set, the keyboard in particular.
So it continued to drip and I continued to type and our keyboard eventually became wet. It was so wet, but I trusted the keyboard to be durable enough, too much that my trust proved to be carelessness in time. In a few moments, our keyboard went insane and, trust me, you wouldn't want to use it. It drove me crazy. You entirely have no clue what's gonna happen with one click on any key. It was so random, it would trigger commands, type gibberish with just one click of a letter, and most of all, drive you nuts.
We had hope when eventually it started to work normally somehow. We thought the problem was solved when it dried. But as more time passed, it started to malfunction again, and we were downcast, we lost our hope on it. It was beyond fixable and it was full of dirt, mostly because it has been our habit to eat while using the computer, which is, as we now discover, not a good habit. So we replaced it, and now is my first time, my first post, to type using our new keyboard. It's not a grand one, it's not flashy nor too techy, but it's so good for me.
POOR OLD COMPUTER TABLE
In addition to the new keyboard, we felt like it's also time to purchase a new computer table. It wasn't planned during the day when we went out to buy a replacement for our old keyboard, but we bought anyway. Well it was surely heavy carrying the parts in a box and bring it home, but I was having fun with it, trying to kind of swing it and saying, "No it's not heavy at all, as opposed to what you might think people." But it was an entire irony. A distraction for myself.
We got home and we assembled it, and when it was all set, the computer was ready to be transferred. Only when we were half done with the transferring did we realize how much "old" and broken our old one was. It was actually broken. No wonder the computer would wobble so much whenever we type. So as it turned out, it was a good decision to buy a new computer table.
The brand new one, on the other side, was so good-looking! It was cypress, and it creates a great blend with the color of our wall. I really liked how the entire computer set looks when I first saw it, and even until now I really love the new look. Since most of our hardware components were black, it also creates a fine contrast and it makes the parts stand out, as opposed to the former one wherein the parts would camouflage to its all-black color. The new one is good, I'm just loving it.
ASSIGNED TO SPEAK
I was the one who spoke before our youth group just this afternoon. I talked about the whole chapter of Romans 12, and it took me a long time before I realized that indeed, I was taking long. How did I see? By the face of my listeners and most especially by the vanishing light of day. It's funny.
RAINY DAY VS. SUNNY DAY
It was so good that we experienced downpours in the past few days, consecutively from Tuesday last week until yesterday. All happened around or after noon. But it was confusing. It still gets too sunny at times, but also rainy again sometimes, then sunny again, then rainy again. So it's hard to conclude whether the rainy days have arrived or summer's not over yet. I guess it's better to say we're at a transition. It's a credible thought given we're moving on to June in two days. What I hope for though is not that it'll get rainy now, or that the sun will stay, but rather, that rain or shine, the weather will be just fine; not too much, not too less, and most of all, not extreme.
NEW CHAMP
Last and somehow the least, the ninth season of American Idol has come to a close. And so has Simon's judging career on the show. I'm surely gonna miss his downright vulgar critiques, his silly antics with Ryan, his accent. AI is surely never gonna be the same without him. He is undeniably one of the first things that'll come into your mind when you hear American Idol. I honestly bet the show's gonna be boring from now on, but I hope the contrary. I'm an absolute fan of the show.
So a new Idol was crowned, and unfortunately it wasn't the one that I wished would be. Let's just see if Lee DeWyze would prove to be "the wise" choice, hope that Crystal would be successful just the same. After all, the real battle's just begun.
