A Month Can Do A Lot

Last month, July 19, I applied for a job in a call center in Alabang. It was my first time applying for a job since graduation, and eventually it became my first job.
I'm now in the second week of training. Everything feels like college all over again, and I'm starting to get tired of it. Too bad for me, the training lasts for about two months. Well, not really too bad; I should be thankful for having a job.

Anyway, along with the new job came other new things as well, like new expenses - fare, food, etc. - new schedule, new knowledge (which I like), and most of all, new friends. New people. New company.
Socializing has always been a challenge for me, but this time, I think things have turned the better way. I laugh everyday, I can get along well enough with my co-trainees, and... well, there are those I dislike and there are those I like. But there's one I think I, well, specially like.

I think.

Arrrrgghhh! Everytime I like a person, I like too much, and it only does nothing but hurt me!

Ok, anyway, I'm only planning to stay for at least 6 months, and at most a year, in the call center industry, and that would be it. A part of me tells me this early on that this is not the profession for me. What I really want is to go abroad, live in a different country, have a life of my own - the life I want.

Before my first day of work last Aug. 10, I finished 'Destined to Reign' by Pastor Joseph Prince. And all I can say is that if there's one book you want me to tell you that you shouldn't miss reading, this would be it. Everyone's got to read it to know how blessed we are, all because of what Jesus did for us.

Also the night before my start date, I began feeling sick. There were times when I felt better, but every once in a while, I would feel like I was about to have fever again. It went on and off, and I was weak. So I knew there was something wrong with my health than just an ordinary fever. I went to the doctor for a check-up last Saturday during my day off, and I was diagnosed of urinary tract infection (UTI).

Right then and there, when the doctor gave me his diagnosis, I already knew it was because I binged too much on Pringles and other salty snacks during the London Olympics - which I stayed up late to watch. The doctor also said I was dehydrated; he recommended me to drink 15-20 glasses of water a day!

Right now, I've been taking my meds for five days, and I'm feeling better. I can still feel a trace of sickness from time to time, but it's not as bad as before. I'm recovering, thank God.

I miss church a lot. I miss being within the crowd of worshiping people.
...
I almost gave up blogging; to no avail, apparently.

Will blog again soon!
