Notes

Somehow today I was inspired to write notes. And thus at last I have given due use to my large, green notebook, given to me by my mom when she arrived from abroad about, I guess, three years ago. That's how long it lasted unused, being kept from dirt and dust and being preserved, so that when I'm finally, finally ready to write neatly, beautifully and AWESOME-ly on it, it would be ready.

Today I finally realized that I have wasted so much time procrastinating finding use for that nice notebook. And I wrote freestyle. Better yer, dirty style.

When I was a child, I used to compare my handwriting to the printed text on magazines and books. I would copy their contents to a notebook and end up disappointed with myself as I find that more words fit in a single line in the magazine than in my copy.

I would try my hardest to imitate even the size of the letters, but I'd end up writing barely intelligible words. So I went on writing with the smallest most understandable size and get contented with it. But I would also sometimes get insecure with the design of the pages from which I copy. There was really no point to it. A ten / eleven / twelve year-old is comparing his notes to the pages of magazines and books.

Today, what I did was just write. Didn't matter how, didn't matter what, didn't matter what it looked like. Didn't matter if it's neat or not. It's just notes, thoughts, things I want myself reminded of... and I feel great that I'm back to writing again. ...on paper.

And it looked more authentic than the pages of a book.
