elusive meanings

meanings of so many unfamiliar words (to me) seem to be elusive...i mean, i'm getting confused how to stick their meanings into my mind..meanings that could just slip away. it seems when i look up the meaning of a word in the dictionary and then encounter it again on an article or story i'm reading after quite some time, there's a tendency that i will just be able to barely remember its meaning. reader's digest seems to use unknown vocabulary a bit often, and i'm somewhat flustered when it comes to wedging in words and their meanings into my system, but i really find reading its articles finely enjoyable as informative and, at times, inspiring. i just gotta keep on reading.

i think my vocabulary knowledge is still narrow, so hopefully it'll eventually expand.
